nanoplus fabricates Fabry Perot (FP) laser diodes in the wavelength range from 760 nm up to 2,8 µm. These lasers are available with either laterally multimode or laterally monomode emission.
In contrast to our single-mode DFB lasers where the wavelength tuning is determined by the temperature dependence of the refractive index, the tuning properties of a Fabry Perot laser is governed by the temperature/current dependence of the gain. Therefore the wavelength tuning rate of these lasers is a factor 5 to 10 higher than for DFBs. This feature makes these devices ideally suited for all applications where a broad emission spectrum combined with large wavelength tuning range is required.
Different AR and HR facet coatings based on a variety of dielectric materials can be applied to the lasers. For detailed information on facet coating options please feel free to contact us. The Fabry Perot lasers are available both as broad area devices and ridge waveguide lasers. Packaging types for these lases include standardized TO headers (e.g. TO5.6mm, TO9mm, TO8), C-mount or customer specific mounts with or without Peltier cooler. Furthermore fiber packaging (pigtailed style) is available upon request.
